🎶☘️ St. Patrick’s Day Parade 2026 – Craic & Ceol Through the Ages ☘️🎶 What a fantastic day we had representing SNB in the Clonakilty St. Patrick’s Day Parade! 🇮🇪 The Clontowntwinning theme “Craic & Ceol Through the Ages” suited our school perfectly and our pupils proudly showcased our rich musical tradition — from traditional Irish music 🎻 to rock 🎸. A huge thank you to all our wonderful pupils and families who took part and made the day so special. 👏 We are incredibly proud of you all! 🌟 Sincere thanks to Michael Dempsey for driving us and to Gilbert O'Sullivan for kindly loaning the trailer. Thank you to all our staff who supported and accompanied the pupils on the day 🙌 A special word of thanks to Kay O’Flynn for accompanying our traditional musicians 🎶, to Regina Fitzmaurice and her fantastic sound crew 🎤 and to John Fitzgerald for mentoring the sound crew 👏 We are also very grateful to Orla O’Keeffe for her outstanding coordination of the parade arrangements — from planning and organisation beforehand to ensuring everything ran smoothly on the day itself ✔️ Thank you also to everyone who helped behind the scenes with costumes 👗, props 🎭, banners and preparations — your effort made all the difference 💚 We were delighted to celebrate the legacy of famous Irish musicians 🇮🇪 and to share the strong sense of ceol agus craic that is at the heart of our school 🎶☘️ 💚 Thank you all for your continued support! The West Cork Rally is always a highlight in Clonakilty and brings such excitement to the community. Great smiles all around today – a lovely memory for the boys! 🥰👏 #SNBClonakilty

🐔☀️🌱 Teamwork in Action at Scoil na mBuachaillí! 🌿🚲 The side of our school where the chickens live has become a real sun trap and outdoor learning space. We are very lucky to be blessed with space in our school grounds, which makes areas like this possible. This part of the school is home to our bike shed 🚲, composting area ♻️, raised beds for planting 🌱, the chicken coop 🐔, and even our outdoor staff room ☕, which was introduced last year. It’s a busy and positive space where sustainability, wellbeing and daily school life come together. We also have plans to develop a sensory garden 🌸🌼🌿 here in the future. One of the most exciting jobs in this area is moving the chicken coop — and it always brings great energy and teamwork! 💪👦👦 Our large coop was designed and built by our caretaker Finbarr 🔨, who cleverly made it so it can be moved regularly around the school grounds. This allows the hens to enjoy fresh grass 🌱 and new areas to explore, while naturally fertilising the soil — a great example of sustainability in action ♻️🌍. The boys absolutely love helping to move the coop. Working together with staff, they carefully guide it to a new spot. It’s a brilliant hands-on lesson in teamwork 🤝, responsibility ⭐, problem-solving 🧠 and caring for animals 🐓. Inside the coop, the chickens are never short of curious visitors! The boys enjoy observing their behaviour 👀, collecting eggs 🥚 and learning about how animals live and grow. 🏁🚗 SNB Supports the West Cork Rally! 🚗🏁 There is great excitement in Scoil na mBuachaillí, Clonakilty as West Cork Rally weekend arrives! The rally is such an exciting event for the whole community and something our pupils really enjoy each year. This year our boys were delighted to take part in the West Cork Rally Art Competition, showing fantastic creativity and enthusiasm. The standard of artwork across the school was brilliant and it was wonderful to see so many pupils getting involved. We are proud to show our continued support for this iconic West Cork event, which brings such energy and excitement to the area each year. 🧡 A Proud Moment for SNB! 💚 A huge well done to Tomás Lowery, who proudly represented Scoil na mBuachaillí, Clonakilty at the Primary Game Hurling Team Selection in Páirc Uí Chaoimh today. Being selected to attend these prestigious trials is a fantastic achievement and reflects Tomás’ dedication, skill and commitment to the game. It is a proud moment for our whole school community to see SNB represented at the home of Cork GAA. Wonderful Musical Performances During Seachtain na Gaeilge ☘️🎶 Music and performance played a very special part in our Seachtain na Gaeilge celebrations. We were treated to an incredible concert from Kay O’Flynn and her talented musicians 🎻🎶, with every class represented 👏. The performances of Irish music and songs 🎵🇮🇪 were outstanding and created a wonderful atmosphere throughout the school. It was fantastic to see so many pupils involved, sharing their talents and taking pride in performing as part of the celebrations ⭐. A really special mention must go to the Senior Infant tin whistle players 🎶🎵 who showed wonderful talent and great confidence performing. 👏👏. Their performance was fantastic and they should be very proud of themselves 🌟. A sincere thank you to Kay O’Flynn and all of the musicians 🎻🎼 for providing such an enjoyable and memorable performance for our school community. It was an occasion that was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone 😊🎶☘️.
